This hike was the Pine Creek Trail, about 2 1/2 miles as well, and the terrain here was totally different than the last hike. Some rocks, some sand, but for the most part, the hiking was more like home. There was more plant life since there was a creek nearby, more trees, more shade, and a much easier hike. We finished that hike up in a little more than an hour, and decided to head back to Vegas and check in the hotel for our final night of vacation.
Check in at the Golden Nugget was quick, we had a room in the gold tower, on the 16th floor. The room was very nice, not quite as spacious as the Rio, but it suited us just fine. We showered, got dressed and headed down to grab a bite to eat. We walked down to the brewpub at the Main Street Station for a pizza, and Janet had one of their microbrews. She said it was great, some type of Black Cherry Stout that they had won an award for a few years earlier. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and with 2 drinks, and appetizer, and a whole barbecue pizza, the bill was 21.00. The exact amount we paid for 2 slices of pizza and a diet coke earlier in the week at MGM. We decided right there on the spot, that we wanted to stay downtown more often on our future trips. The rest of the evening, we strolled around on Freemont Street, stopping in on each of the casinos for a few games, and watching the Freemont Street Experience. We decided to take in another show, this time the Country Superstars at the Nugget. This was a pretty good show, we say Reba, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson and Big and Rich. Well, not really, what we actually saw were impersonators. But they did a pretty good job, Willie Nelson was particularly funny and looked alot like the real Willie.
After the show we played a little more, again not winning anything, then called it a night.
All in all, another excellent day in Las Vegas.
